The Rho Iota Kappa Chapter celebrates its 100th Anniversary this year. Founded in 1908, Rho Iota Kappa was the first fraternity at the University of Rhode Island. In 1962 the fraternity became affiliated with Chi Phi, the nation’s oldest men’s fraternity and was officially chartered as the Rho Iota Kappa Chapter of the Chi Phi Fraternity. To commemorate the 100th year of our Fraternity, the Rho Iota Kappa Chapter of the Chi Phi Fraternity Alumni Association invites you to join us at our 2008 Alumni Spring Weekend culminating with the 100th Anniversary Dinner Dance at the Newport Marriott on Saturday April 26th.

The weekend looks like this:

Friday, April 25: Golf at Cranston Country Club, noon start

Friday, April 25: Annual Banquet/Alumni meeting, 6:00 PM

Saturday, April 26: See the sites and shop in downtown Newport

Saturday, April 26: Cocktail Reception, 6:00 PM

Saturday, April 26: Dinner Dance, 7:00 - 11:00 PM

The cost of the Dinner Dance is expected to be $65.00 per person. Due to the cost of our having to reserve space for this event, we will require RSVPs and payment no later than April 1st. Those planning to stay in Newport are urged to call Newport area Hotels directly ASAP.
